rosa parks


Rosa parks was born in february 4,1913 in tuskegee,alabama.when she was two she moved with her fathers parents in abbeville,alabama.then after a few months rosa's mom decided to live with her own parents in pine level.her parents owned a small farm and a better house in pine level.when rosa was two in a half her dad left them.then when she turned five and her brother sylvester was three he visited them for a while but then they never saw him again.untill she growed up.so she had to grow up on a farm.and when she was six or seven she started working for pay picking cotton at hudson plantation.rosa's first school was the same one that her mom attended.rosa had to leave high school because her mom could'nt pay her tuition.at miss whites school anylonger.rosa had to clean classrooms to pay her schooling.but then miss white had to close the school in 1928.

so far ninth grade rosa went to black school in alabama.when rosa was eighteen,a friend introduced her to raymond parks a twenty-eight year old barber.and rosa in 1932 when raymond and rosa got married.in 1943 she joins the NAACP and becomes secratery organizer,reasercher&historian.she worked with the man that became the local NAACP president.when rosa parks began to work on voter regestration.in 1945 she wrote out a copy of the whole exam ready for court and prove she was denied to vote.but by this time she recieved the voter regestration in the mail but she had to pay the poll tax every year untill she reached the age to vote on december 1,1955 rosa had been at work all day so she got on a bus it was'nt full but after a few stops the seats were taken.rosa,the man sitting next to her by the window the two women across the isle had to get up cause that was the law.but when they did'nt get up james blake said''move i need those seats''.no one moved.the three people in the row moved to the back rosa moved her legs out of the way so the man sitting next to her could get by the driver asked rosa are you going to get up and she said''no''.then the driver said ''then you are going to be arrested''.rosa just looked at the driver and said''you may''.she said quietly.about two houres later she was allowed to call home.her mom answerd and said''I'm in jail see if parks can come and get me out.
Rosa parks was honored they renamed the street she lived on during boycott rosa l parks bouvalard.in 1996 president clinton awarded rosa parks with a presidential medal.and some people often ask rosa parks what still needs to be done and she says.we all have to free our mindsof racism and belive in freedom and justice for all people of all races and all religous,everywhere in the world.in 1957 parks family moves to detroit michigan.in 1977 raymond parks dies of cancer and rosas brother sylvester mcCauley dies.and in 1979 rosas mother dieds.rosas mueseum and library opens in montgomery,alabama on corner where she refused to give up her bus seat in 1955 and in 2005 rosa parks dies in october 24, in her detroit home.
